Camping on the edge of Lake Lyell, suitable for caravans and with powered sites.
This is a large grassy area with campsites available on the waters edge.
There is a good quality boat ramp, and a jetty which makes launching and loading the family easier.
The lake is popular for water skiing and fishing, and can get quite busy during peak times. If you are here in out of season times, you can get a choice spot overlooking the lake.
There is a children's playground, hot showers (20 cents per minute), picnic tables, flushing toilets and shop/kiosk. The shop sells all the basics and also stocks some fishing and skiing gear as well as hot food.
The new owners are really friendly and even offered free camping when the bushfires were on in the Blue Mountains for those affected.
Fishing along the bank can be productive if you don't mind a bit of a walk to a good spot. The lake is best fished from a boat though as you can try many different spots more easily (rainbow and brown trout are regularly caught). Trolling a lure seems to get a good response, or fly fishing in the late afternoon.
Fires are permitted (designated areas only) and firewood is available from the kiosk (collecting firewood is not permitted in the park).
