Ration Point Campground

On the banks of the Turon River, bout 3km from Sofala, this a great free campground.
The casurina trees provide shelter from the wind and some nice shade in this grassy, and mostly level campground. Pets are allowed here, provided they are kept under control.
There are basic toilets facilities, easy access for caravans and some good level patches for tent based camping.
The river here is fairly narrow, but would be worth trying for trout. Both Rainbow and Brown Trout are often taken from this river as well as way too many carp.
There are the odd rocked fire spots that people have made over the years, however you will need to bring your own wood.
