Small secluded campground on Snapper Island
Absolutely stunning location, accessible only by boat. There are 4 campsites on the island, all with picnic tables and poles with eyes for attaching tarps. There is also a long drop toilet.
This is picture postcard tropical paradise, and absolutely worth the 2.5km paddle to reach it (or you could use a tinny if you are lazy).
The camping area is just off the beach, and you can be lulled to sleep by the waves making music in the broken coral shore.
Cape Kimberly is the closest point to leave from, and Koala Resort is the right on Cape Kimberly beach so makes a great spot to spend the night before you leave. You can also leave your car there whilst you are camping on the island.
Although it is a short trip, it can get very rough in bad weather, so make sure you check weather reports before heading out.
Don't forget to take a snorkle to explore the fringing coral reef as well (and a fishing rod).
At low tide the fringing reef can leave you stranded on some of the beaches, so high tide is best if you plan to explore the rest of the island. It is roughly 5kms of paddling to circumnavigate the island (with beach detours). The sea on the eastern side is more exposed so tends to be a bit choppier.
The guys from Bush and Boat Sea Kayaking Tours regularly paddle around these waters and are happy to answer questions for kayakers looking to visit the Island, or paddle around the area.

The only way to access the island is by boat, and a kayak is probably the best way as you can use it to explore the rest of the island amongst the fringing reef.
Closest departure point is Cape Kimberly beach.
