In the rainforest and right near the beach, in Daintree National Park.
This is one of my favourite spots in Australia. Where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef.
The 15 campsites are fairly close together around a circular drive. Some are suitable for small campervans and others more suited to tents (bollards between tent site and parking area).
All sites are well shaded, with the rainforest right up to the edge of camp, with plenty of shade.
There are long drop toilets, an information board and an abundance of wildlife.
Due to the weather up here, in the wet season, it is often not possible to camp here, and it may be closed occasionally even in normal times if there has been a lot of rain. Remember you will be in one of the rainiest parts of Australia.
Plan on spending more than one night here, it is such a beautiful location that you will need time to explore and relax.
No fires are permitted at Noah Beach campground, so you will need to bring a gas cooker and the water should be treated before being used.
Things that bite and sting
There are plenty of warning signs here that will remind you that this is crocodile country. Yes, they do occasionally head out to sea and along the beach, but swimming in any of the salt water creeks is a definite way to become dinner. Nearby, Noah Creek is full of them, so don't get tempted to dip you feet.
There are also Box Jelly Fish and Irukandji Jelly Fish here, mainly in the warmer months, but they can still occur during the dry season.
These are both potentially fatal and at the best, extremely painful things to encounter. Take the precautions on the signs at the campsite seriously.
