This Wet Tropics World Heritage National Park surrounds the beautiful Koombooloomba Dam.
Endagered wet schlerophyl forest, upland rainforest and dry forest make up the main vegetation types in this park. Threatened and endangered species in the park include, Herbert River Ring Tail Possums, Red Gosshawks, Yellow-bellied Gliders, Golden Bowerbirds and Lumholtz's tree-kangaroos.
Tully Falls flows into Koombooloomba Dam where it is stored before being used in a hydro-electric power station. The Damn itself isn't park of the National Park, and water skiing and fishing are permitted. (See bag and size limits as well as restricted species and seasonal closures at www.fisheries.qld.gov.au. There are also restrictions on boat power depending on the level of the dam. See www.msq.qld.gov.au for more information.
