Level and grassy rest area on the banks of Liverpool Creek.
This is a free campground suitable for tents and small vans / camper trailers.
There are flushing toilets and picnic tables as well as direct access to the creek. The area was damaged by cyclone Yasi, so the facilities have been replaced and cleaned up.
The camping area is very open and flat with plenty of grass, but not much shade. It would make a god spot for a quick over-nighter on your way through to one of the more impressive campgrounds in this area.

This is a free camping area.
No bookings are required, it can get a bit busy during tourist season, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a backup plan in case it is packed out.

On the Silkwood-Japoonvale Road, on the sout-east side of the bridge over Liverpool Creek. It is inland of the Bruce Highway, about 28km south west from Innisfail.
