This free (donation) campsite is close to Surat on the banks of the Balonne River.
This is a large campground with shady grassy sites, with covered picnic tables, flushing toilets and barbecues.
There is also a dump point and rubbish bins provided.
A gravel boat ramp gives you access to the River where you can catch yellow belly (or plenty of carp). Remember to (humanely) dispatch with the carp and don't put them back in the river as they are a pest species.
