Powered or unpowered camping on private farm with direct access to the Mary River (note restricted opening hours).
Kenilworth homestead is open every weekend, and every day during Queensland School Holidays.
There is a huge grassed area for the unpowered sites and bookings are not essential for unpowered sites. There are limited powered sites and booking is best for these to avoid disappointment.
The Mary River hear is fairly small calm and clear and is perfect for exploring by kayak / canoe and swimming. Launching your kayak is fairly easy with a gentle grassed slope to the waters edge.
Kenilworth also offers a private camping area that can be booked for family groups up to 6 families and a max of 12 adults and 18 children. This must be booked in advance and gives you exclusive use of toilets, showers and even loan of 4 canoes. There is also a self contained camp kitchen with BBQ and utensils.
Pets are permitted provided they are kept on leash and cleaned up after.
Holiday rates apply at Easter, Christmas and long weekends. Other times fees are as follows
Per head per night rates
Children: $8 – (2 under free)
Family: $46 (up to 4 children)
Powered: Extra $2 p/head p/night

Normal Weekend – Open from 2pm Fridays to 10am Mondays
Pets are allowed with conditions
There is usually drinking water available at this campsite. Please take care, it may still be advisable to boil water before drinking.
Fires may be allowed in built fire places. Please check local fire bans and rules.
Gas/electric barbeques available.

Sealed road to the entrance. Good quality dirt roads to access the camping area suitable for 2wd and caravans.
