Bush camping is provided for at the historic Boondooma Homestead. Camp where the pioneers lived and worked.
You can choose a spot to suit yourself, almost anywhere on the 40 acre site. Near the buildings you can have power. Further away, in the gully, you can pitch your tent among the trees. Or you may prefer the furthest corner, on a rise. All grass is kept well mown.
The water is good rain tank water, but may not be plentiful. Pets are allowed if kept under control. Cooking fires may be permitted. Ask the onsite Caretaker.
The main attraction is the homestead and its original buildings dating from the 1850s. Tours are available. You can walk down to the Boyne River and do some bird spotting.
The greatest number that have camped here for events is just under 800. Usually there is nobody.
There are also budget cabins available if you feel like having a rest from camping (or want to bring friends that are scared of tents).
