Huge area for camping on the banks of Eugella dam.

Basic amenities (long drop toilets) and cold water showers, as well as picnic tables and BBQs and a play ground.

Easy kayak launching from the foreshore, natural surroundings with plenty of shady sites.

The camping area is spread over acres of fairly open dam foreshore. It can get quite cool up here and is known for being a bit windy, so best to try a sheltered spot (facing away from dam).

It is pretty easy to find a sheltered spot, and there are plenty of trees around for shade.

Fires are permitted, however you will need to bring your own firewood. There are numerous fire rings around the camping area.

Fishing

The dam is stocked with sooty grunter, barramundi and sarratoga. Try around structure for sooty grunter, and you won't be disappointed. The remains of drowned trees and around some of the larger rocks are the spots.

There are also good barrumundi to be had when the water is warm, but given the altitude, (about 550m) the water is a few degrees cooler than you would expect at this latitude so takes till later in the year to warm up.

The boat ramp is good quality and depending on the water level, will not cause any issues. Kayak fishing is a great way to fish this dam too, as you can get in among the trees or up the inlet to target spots the power boats can't easily get to.
