This is a spectacular campground near the scenic Jourama Falls, about 90 km north of Townsville.
The campground itself is large, grassy and well shaded. There are excellent facilities here with wheel chair accessible toilets, showers, gas barbecue(with a burner) and picnic tables.
The falls are a short walk up the track and are and excellent swimming spot. There is a set of stairs leading down to the granite lined creek surrounded by rainforest and shallow, clear water.
There is also beautiful swimming hole in the picnic area before the campground, with a platform and ladder to get in. The picnic area has tables and gas barbecues and is well worth the short drive off the highway for lunch and a dip, even if you are not planning on camping here.
