This is a great base for kayak fishing as there is easy access for launching and plenty of yellow belly to be had. They make great eating for freshwater fish.
The campground is usually well maintained and has flushing toilets, cold water showers, rubbish bins, under cover picnic tables and designated picnic area.
Access it easy and there is a choice of shady or sunny spots depending on your preference and solar power needs.
Don't forget to visit the Thermal Artesian Pools in town at the Aquatic Centre. I am not sure if they have the healing qualities that people claim, but it makes for a relaxing few hours.
