Most northern campsite in Australia (commercial caravan park).
This is a well equipped campground with laundry, camp kitchen, hot showers, internet, shop etc.
It is the most northern campground in Australia, and is handy as a base for exploring the tip of Cape York.
The camping area is very large and caters to tents, camper trailers and vans as well as having cabins available.
It can be a little noisy although most of the crowd camp up near the amenities, and the tent area extends a fair way south. If you don't mind a walk to the loo, you can get away from the late night revelers celebrating their final arrival at the top of Australia.
There are two ways to get to the tip from here. The main road is the safest bet, but there is also a very rough track that is slightly "shorter" although it will take you longer. There is a sign at the beginning advertising expensive recovery, however if you are careful and have a half way decent 4wd it should not cause you too much grief. Ask at reception and they will direct you (and advise that you don't use it).
