A spectacular 300 metre deep gorge, cut through the sandstone by the Lederderg River, runs right through the middle of this diverse park.
Shaws Lake is a pretty spot to stop for lunch, right on the lake. There are picnic tables, wood barbecues and grassed areas right by the shoreline.
Mackenzie's Flat Picnic Area is a great one when the weather is warm (although it is pretty busy in peak times). You can swim here, and then cook up a feast on the electric barbecues. There are also picnic tables and toilets at this site.
Bushwalking
There are a range of hiking opportunities from short easy 1 hour return walks to 3 day 20+km difficult hikes. See Short easy walks or Medium walks and overnight walks for more information.
