Finke River Rest Area Campground

Highway rest stop on the banks of the (usualy dry) Finke River.
There are basic facilities here, with picnic tables, toilets and fire places. It is a nice little spot for and overnight on the way through.
The river is is worth and explore, most of the time you can follow the dry creek bed for miles. If you are lucky enough to get here after rain, then the water attracts the birds.

This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.
On the Sturt Highway approximately 125km south of Alice Springs and 170km north of the South Australia / Northern Territory Border.
