A very pleasant spot to stay overnight or longer. The free camping ground is situated to the north of town off the Ballone Highway, on the banks of Wallum Creek.
It's well signposted, en route to the Cemetery. Drive a few hundred metres North along William Street to the large but narrowish camping area, which extends for a few hundred metres.
Clean toilets and plenty of space to set up for the night. M/F hot showers and toilets at the start (southern end) of an informative concrete walkway beside Wallum Creek towards the Ballone Highway/Town, with additional toilets near the Cemetery (North) end of the dirt roadway.
It is a donation site and all money is going to benefit the local bush nurses station. There are half a dozen or so potable water taps throughout the camping grounds for use, including topping up water tanks, some wood-fired BBQ sites with cooking plates, and a dump point at the entrance to the camping area.
Recommend collecting your own timber before arrival.
A favourite, this is a great free camping area provided by a visionary Town/Council, and truly makes this a real RV Friendly Town. Support the Town to ensure these facilities continue.
Free, but donations appreciated for a good cause.
