An old forestry camp converted into a picnic and camping area.
The site consists of grassed terraces on a steep hillside above the small Mill Creek, shaded by Blackwood wattle and surrounded by lush Messmate forest. Only a couple of the fenced, level parking areas are large enough for campervans.
Facilities (5 benches, 3 BBQs) suffer from age and lack of maintenance.
Rated 3.6/5
Generally quiet, Freemans is popular with motor bike campers so it could be crowded and noisy at weekends.
