The largest freshwater lake in Victoria.
Thanks to Peter for the below description.
The largest freshwater in Victoria it is currently [August 2000] nearly dry and the remaining water is suspected to contain blue-green algae. Thus there are now few water-birds but parrots, white cockatoos and kookaburras abound.
Nature study, cycling and (if there is water) water sports. May be hot and dry in summer. Bring own water.
Dispersed bush camping is permitted anywhere around the lake although soft sand limits access. Just over the entry sand hill there is a graveled track to the left leading to a couple of dispersed sites. Opposite the entry road is a good track following the Outlet Creek (dry) downstream (north) with many level sites shaded by open Black Box.
