Extremely popular fishing location and with a deserved reputation.

It is becoming known as one of the best places to catch bass and golden perch. The main camping area has a good quality boat ramp.

The dam is about 3 hours north of Sydney via the New England Highway and is a popular long weekend break.

The dam is very large and can become quite choppy with consistent wind, so inexperienced kayakers should not venture too far if the weather could turn bad.
