Goulet Bluff Camping Area - Basic camping area near Denham WA, right on the coast. more...
This National Park is on the northern tip of the Peron Peninsula, north of Denham in Western Australia
This is an amazing area for the 4WDer or fisherman with access to some of the most amazing coastal areas in Australia.
One of the most interesting sites in this park (well for me anyway) was the Stromatolites. If you want to see what the earth was like nearly 3 billion years ago, before life moved onto the land, then the fossilised stromatolites are evidence of evolution...
I forgot my snorkle last time I was here, but soon picked one up after seeing the water and spent about a week just paddling around watching the fish. It is great to watch the giant trevally swimming around you, I left them alone with the fishing line through.
On the eastern side of the tip is Monkey Mia. My first time there was about 30 years ago (I was on a family holiday) and ended up getting chased around by dolphins. I have heard it is a little bit more organised now, but back then you all got a chance to swim with them.
There are a number of basic bush camping sites in the park.
