Campground right on the Kauri Creek in Tuan State forest with toilets and a boat ramp.

The forest aroundhere is mainly exotic pine species (known for its hoop pine production) however once you are on the water, it is all Australia. From here is it only about 10-15 minute boat ride out to Fraser Island.

Dugongs, turtles and dolphins can all be seen in the creek and strait between here and Fraser Island. Magic spot for those with a decent sized boat, or a kayak. On the kayak side, take care as there have been crocodiles spotted in the creek.
