Heifer Creek Campground

On the edge of Heifer Creek, this is a large grassy campground suitable for vans or a tent.

There are large mature gum trees for shade (there were a couple of large fallen branches last time I was here so be careful in the wind).

The area is surrounded by forest and hills so should be reasonably well sheltered from the wind. A great spot for tent camping.

There are some great views if you are energetic enough to climb the hill near the campsite. The creek is a bit too small for swimming, although it does seem to attract the bird life.

The scrub turkeys and magpies seem quite used to people so will hang around your camp. Rock Wallabies (see photos) also visit although are a little more timid. Other neighbours were magpies and native minor birds.

How to book:

There are no bookings for heifer creek, being a free campsite. There is a lot of room so you should be able to find a spot in all but the busiest times. It is popular with "grey nomads" so you might be sharing with some friendly caravaners.
