Apsley Falls Campground

This is a beautiful, well equiped, campground in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park, right next to Apsley Falls
The ghosts of the snow gums, barely seen, through the early morning mist is one of my favourite memories of camping here.
This is a moderately popular campground, but I have never seen it too full. With 15 well spaced sites there is plenty of room to find a spot to yourself.
There are wood barbecues / fire pits and often a supply of wood (usually mill off cuts) which the National Parks guys drop off. If you have your heart set on a fire best to bring a supply just in case though. Remember also to observe fire bans.
There are also push button gas barbecues in the picnic area which work quite well.
Apparently you can find spotted tailed quolls, sugar gliders and badicoots here, but I have only seen possums.
Apsley Gorge Rim Walk
A fairly easy (grade 2), 1.2km loop walk takes you around the gorge and gives views of the falls. There is a also a good chance of spotting wallabies and numerous birds on this short walk.

Location information for Apsley Falls
This campsite is in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park
Waterfalls, gorges and wild rivers among vast tracts of World heritage wilderness. This park is rugged and beautiful, but also very accessible.
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.
Apsley Falls is on the Oxley Highway approximately 19km south east of Walcha.
