A free campground, suitable for an over-nighter in your caravan, however can get very busy.
The first time I stayed here, it was by accident when I got blocked by floods at Long Flat down the road. I attempted to head back up the hill but was blocked again by a fallen tree over the road.
I ended up crashing in the back of the car at Ellenborough Reserve. I awoke to get a front row seat to the huge volume of water flowing down the Hastings River. Usually though, you will need to clamber down the bank to get near the water.
The camping area is fairly large and open with level, grass sites, suitable for caravans or campers. There are a few good spots for tents away from the caravans too. Under cover picnic tables are provided as well as wood powered barbecues (bring your own firewood).
NOTE:The camping area can become boggy during wet weather.
