Just off the Pacific Highway near Coopernook, NSW, this large grassed camping area is suitable for caravans (and is quite popular with them).

It is however a very attractive campsite with plenty of room to find a spot away from the crowds. It's not a bad place to overnight and exploring the Coopernook state forest where patches of rain forest and spectacular views (especially from Vincent's Lookout)

This campsite is in Coopernook State Forest

Some areas of rainforest, large stand eucalypt trees and a lovely drive up to Mount Vincent.

This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.

Getting there

Just off the Pacific Highway on the Forest Road, about 25km north from Taree. View directions from Taree in google maps

About 33km South of Kew. View directions in google maps

Thanks to "Travelling Fool" for the following direction info.

If coming from Taree, the route that will cause less damage to your vehicle/s is to take the Forest Rd turnoff just after the Coopernook town turnoff. Head north for about 1km along the Old Pacific Hwy, cross back over the Pacific Hwy on Forest Rd itself, head straight into the forest where the road turns gravel, and the follow the signs to the campground. If coming from the north, take the Forest Rd exit and cross over the Pacific Hwy.
