This is a free, very large, grassy campground on the banks of the Barnard River suitable for caravans.
The river here is quite attractive, although being a reserve, you might sometimes be sharing your campsite with some cows (as well as a few grey nomads).
There are some basic facilities here (toilets, picnic tables etc). Last time I was here (Late 2012) they were installing some covered picnic tables.
The creek runs clear and cool here, however, don't be fooled into thinking it is safe to drink. Treat or boil water for at least 10 minutes before drinking.
There are some built fire places, and quite a few spots where people have made their own out of river rocks.
It makes for a great stop over between Walcha and the Coast, especially if you need a bit of room for a van, or for the dogs to stretch their legs.

There is a steepish dirt road down to the reserve from Thunderbolts way and the access is on a downhill bend, so take care if you are coming in with a big van.
The entrance is about 34km north of Gloucester on the Thunderbolts Way (Walcha Road).
