High altitude, 4WD only campsite set in the stunning Barrington Tops National Park
Near the Litle Murray Swamp, this (usually) quiet camp site offers bird/wildlife watchers a chance to see some interesting birds and native animals, including red-necked wallabies, kangaroos, richards pipets, flame robins, wombats.
There are some great walks in the area which give you a chance to explore the sub-alpine marshes.
Spectacular views can be had from Careys Peak lookout nearby.
Please note that there is a request from National Parks to help protect area from a water based mould...
...from the National Parks Website...
"A water-based mould (Phytophthora cinnamomi) is prevalent in this area. The mould attacks the roots of plants causing them to rot, causing a dieback of trees and plants. Efforts are in place to contain the area of contamination south of Little Murray. You can assist the long-term containment of the mould by cleaning your shoes and mountain bike tyres before and after entering this region."
