A large flat camping area in the pine forests (slash pines) near the Watagan Mountains
This campground is very spacious and shady with wide open areas kept free from undergrowth by the large pine trees (these were planted as a trial in the 1920s).
It is a very popular campsite in peak times (Easter especially) and can get a bit noisy at times. In the off-season you will most likely get the place to yourself.
There are a few options for walks from this campground. The Pines Walking Trail is a short walk along the Dora Creek and passes through some rainforest and an attractive rock pool that has been damned off with a little waterfall.
The Abbotts Falls Walking Trail is a bit more hilly but well worth the effort. Passing through rainforest and large blue gum forests, it is a nice walk on warmer days. Last time I did this walk, the weeds were a bit high however.

From the Pacific Highway, take the Mandalong Road exit to Morriset and take your first left onto Freemans Drive. Take a left onto Martinsville Roat just before Cooranbong Park. About 5km further, take a left into Wattagan Road.
Not far from the turn off, the road turns to dirt, however it is pretty good quality. Follow the road for another 10km and the campsite is signed on your right.
