A very large reserve (28ha) with dispersed sites shaded by a woodland of Yellow Gum (White Ironbark), Brown Stringybark and Long-leaved Box (Bundy) with a thin understory of wattles and some grass over gravel.

There are 4 very dispersed fireplaces and tables, a couple well off the road. Gravel tracks lead even further back into the reserve. The dam is empty except for a couple of tadpole puddles.

Rated 4/5

Kangaroos are common and bird life is prolific and varied. Visit Tooan State Park just to the south (no camping)

Originally a water catchment reserve the vegetation has been little disturbed. To the north is mallee and wildflower heathland typical of the Little Desert. A walking circuit wanders through that scrub, at its best in spring.

At the entrance to the Reserve is a memorial to Jane who kept her two brothers alive for 8 days while lost in the bush in the winter of 1864.
