In a protected broad valley in open savannah woodland with thin shade from stunted Yellow Box and River Red Gums
Backed by scrub and rugged granite outcrops. The extended camping area is level and partially grassed over granite sand.
Fires in fireplaces (3) only.
Wildflowers, kangaroos and cockatoos are common.
Can be hot and dry in summer.
Langi Ghiran Reservoir is 1.7k up the track to the right (south, then east).
Longer walks to Mounts Gorrin and Langi Ghiran (922m) with stunning views west to the Grampians.

Access from Ararat: South-east 13k on the Western Hwy [A8], left (north) 4.5k up the Langi Ghiran Picnic Ground (Kartuk) Rd (corrugated gravel) to its end.
