Commercial campground with lake side camping areas on the edge of Lake Maroon.

This is a good base for fishing from Lake Maroon (Yellow Belly, Cod, perch and eel-tailed catfish abound).

The dam is a stocked impoundment so a fishing licence is required all year. You can obtain a licence from the kiosk if you forget to get one before you arrive.

They hire kayaks, canoes and tinnies as well as fishing rods and some camping gear, so is also a handy spot for those wanting to try camping without buying all the gear. They even (for a fee) hire you a tent (and for an additional fee) erect it and pull it down for you. Makes for fuss free (although expensive) camping.

The camping area near the water has no powered sites, and has "eco loos". The camping area higher up has powered sites and is near the amenities block.

The kiosk sells the basics like bait, ice creams and fishing tackle as well as firewood.

Fires are permitted here, however you are not allowed to bring your own firewood, you must purchase it from the kiosk. They say this is to ensure only clean, nail free wood is used. At $25 per bag, they must do pretty well out of this.

There are also cabins on site which looked pretty clean and had water views as well as self contained units.
