Magic spot (boat only of course) on Peel Island, now Teerk Roo Ra National Park.

There are no facilities on the island, bring your own water. Fires are not ther than toilets so will need to use fuel stove. Camping is on sandy base, so make sure you bring the sand pegs.

Peel Island is approximately 400 hectares in size and between Cleveland on the coast and North Stradbroke Island. Water is usually pretty calm as it is protected by Straddy.

It is about a 4km kayak trip and makes a great, easy overnight adventure for sea kayakers. Just remember to let someone know where you are going, when you will be back (and preferably travel in pairs).

For the lazier boaters, it is only a blat out from the mainland. Most people anchor in Horseshoe Bay. Popular spot for overnight fishing trips.

You can also camp at Platypus Bay, about 1km North East (anticlockwise) from Horseshoe Bay.

No pets are allowed on the Island, no fires permitted, no generators, need to take your rubbish out.
