Set among ancient rainforests and eucalypt forests, this is a perfect base camp for exploring Tapin Tops National Park.

The sites are not marked and it is a lovely open grassy campground.

It is a short walk from the carpark to the camping area. The carpark is accessible by 2WD.

There is a couple of must do short rainforest walks from the campground, Mountain Brush circuit and Potaroo Falls walk which follows the creek to the waterfall with a swimming hole.

Not far away is Harry Browns Lookout with stunning views of Rowleys Rock and Head and Shoulders Cliff.

Greater gliders, parma wallabies, red-legged pademelons, and koalas are just some of the wildlife you may have the privilege of seeing, although I was not fortunate enough to see the gliders but one of the other campers assured me they were there.

I went in the spring so the wildflowers were amazing some of which were: large yellow guinea flowers, violet pea flowers, and the Illawarra Flame tree, with its flashy red flowers.

There is also some cool old forestry machinery which was awesome. Would definitely recommend planning some extra time for this one to take it all in.
