A beautiful little campground in the stunning New England National Park.

For the bush walker, this place is paradise. A number of short and multi day walks start here and traverse rugged granite cliffs, Antarctic Beech forest and pass by majestic views.

The campground itself is great, there is a sheltered picnic area with gas barbecue, grassy and shady sites and well kept long drop toilets. If you have the time, plan to stay here a couple of days and do some of the walks. The easiest is around the top of the nearby lookout and could be done in a wheel chair. On a clear day you can see all the way to the coast.

The weeping rock track is amazing (although can be very slippery in wet weather). I was lucky enough to be here during a cold snap, when the cliff face had frozen and created a dreamlike landscape of icicle stalactites and stalagmites.

Another multi=day walk starts from this campground which follows the ridge line down fire trails all the way to Thora. I did this with a couple of friends and it was one of the most spectacular walks I have done.

You are over 1000m at this campground, so it can get freezing (literally) at almost any time of year. Make sure you pack the woolies and doona.

Last time I was here, there was a good stock pile of offcuts for firewood, however it would be worth bringing your own just in case. Collecting firewood in the National Park is strictly prohibited.
