Greens Campground

Greens has toilets

Situated in open Ironbark forest with some wattle and shrub understory over gravel.

Very Historic site rich in Gold rush History, with the open cut mine and puddling machines in the area.

If you like some gold prospecting or some easy bush walking this area is great for a night or 2.

Must be self sufficient, although if you need something, the Rushworth Township is only a 10min trip away.

Secluded from roads but with limited internal privacy (although many shrubs have been planted recently). The designated parking areas are designed for car camping - some slope, all have limited vehicle length.

Surrounded by a typical box-ironbark forest, mainly Red Ironbark, Grey Box and Yellow Gum with relatively sparse undergrowth (wattles, grevilleas, hakeas) on the stony soil. Wildflowers, including terrestrial orchids, are prolific in spring.

Once a town of 2,000 little remains of Whroo except peppercorn and pine trees, a large cemetery and the gorge-like open-cut Balaclava Hill mine.
