Small level gravelly clearing on a ridge nose above Lake Tyres.

Good shade, well off main roads and tracks. Reasonable camp site. Tranquil.

Rated 4.4/5.

Trident Arm is thickly timbered with Silvertop, Gippsland Grey Box and Red Ironbark extending to the lake edge with limited undergrowth (spring wildflowers).

Black swans, waterbirds and kookaburras are common, as are wallaby and wombats.

Fishing offers Bream, garfish, skipjack and flathead.

Use of gas stoves and portable toilets preferred.

This campsite is accessable with regular 2wd vehicles.

Getting there

From Lakes Entrance: North east 29.5k along the Princes [A1] Hwy (6.7k past Nowa Nowa), right (south) down Lake Tyres House Rd (creek gravel, bumpy) 10.5k, right (west) 1.5k down the Trident Track (formed earth, smooth, narrow), left 300m on signposted \"camping area\" track. (Access tracks may be too narrow & twisty past trees for caravans/big rigs).
