Small, level, gravelly clearing in dry mixed sclerophyll forest on the nose of a ridge above Lake Tyres.
Well shaded by Silver top, Southern mahogany and wattle with thin undergrowth (spring wildflowers). The view of the lake is constrained by tree tops.
Rated 3.8/5
An easy 200m walking track leads down to the lake. Well off main roads at tracks end. Possibly some day trippers.
Black swans, water birds and kookaburras are common, as are wallaby and wombats.
Use of gas stoves and portable toilets preferred.
