A level, grassed, pleasant ridge top clearing surrounded by dense montain forest.
Green grass (mown by cattle and wallabies). The best camp along the Dargo High Plains Road.
Rated 4.2/5
Currajongs and parrots are common.
Good water is available 800m north at Mt Ewen Springs - a cascading stream by the roadside. At 1200m can be cold.
The Dargo High Plain Rd runs 53k north through remote alpine country with some fine views and spring flowers. The reasonable gravel road is closed by snow in winter, is unsuitable for caravans (steep twisty sections) and can suffer logging truck damage.
