A rather poor little site, emphasized by the brown trunks of Messmate which provide good shade.
Level parking bays are short (6m), designed for tent camping.
Rated at 3.5/5
Features an old tin timber-getters hut.
Wildflowers and kangaroos abound. May be hot and dry in summer.
Located in a wide, lightly treed and gravelly heathland valley of the headwaters of the Glenelg Rv, facing the abutments of the Victoria Range.

Location information for Strachans
This site is accessable by caravans in good weather.
Situated near the southern end of the Victoria Range by the headwaters of the Glenelg Rv.
Access from Cavendish; North-east 26k on the Henty Hwy [A200] (to Woohlpooer), right (east) 14.5k on the Glenelg River Rd (gravel) (6k past Chimney Pots car park, just after Jensens Rd junction) left 200m down Sawmill Track.
