A grassy, open flat about 500m from the placid, picturesque Swan Lake which is set amidst dunes and a rocky outcrop.
Specific sites are relatively large but lined up like an army camp with no shade or internal shrubs.
Surrounded by dense coastal scrub.
Pit toilets, tap water
Prolific bird life: water birds including pelicans, swans and ducks; honeyeaters, wrens and fantails in the coastal scrub. Kangaroos and emus are common.
Further from the ocean than Lake Monibeong, a 1.5k walking track follows the line of the Johnstone Creek through very large, extended and mobile dunes to the endless surf beach (fishing, swimming dangerous). Upstream of the lake is a small but spectacular waterfall.
