A pleasant, secluded picnic ground in a forested creek valley surrounded by low ridges.

Well off the highway and the forest road, but expect day picnickers

Gravelled and level car park, grassed grounds surrounded by log barriers. Creek may be dry.

Shade provided by large White Stringybark and melaleuca. Mixed forest surrounding includes Red Ironbark, Messmate, Blue Gum and But But (Apple) Box. Wombats and goannas are common. Graded walking tracks

This campsite is accessable with regular 2wd vehicles.

Getting there

From Lakes Entrance: North west 9k on the Princes Hwy [A1] (0.5 east of Nungurner Rd to Metung, 300m east of the Forestech State Forest complex), right (north) 2.5k on Log Crossing Rd (Uncles Rd) (gravel). After crossing Mississippi Creek turn right 300m up the signposted gravel track past a small parking area, past toilets, over a ridge to the picnic ground
