Open shade to most sites provided by Grey Box and Yellow Gum (White Ironbark) with some heath understory and minimal grass cover to the gravelly soil.

Rated 3.9/5

The area shows signs of early settlement - eucalyptus oil tanks, clearings and a grassed house site with two peppercorn trees overlooking a paddock of Whirrakee wattle. Spectacular wildflowers in spring.

The area is claimed to have the highest concentration of songbirds in Australia. Being on the north/south divide between habitats species common to both wetter and dryer areas are present.
