About Bunya Mountains National Park

Rising up to 1100 metres in elevation, Bunya Mountains is the second oldest National Park in Queensland

Two of the most interesting features of Bunya National Park are the huge Bunya Pines (Araucaria Bidwillii) and the ancient Grass Trees.

The area had special significance for the local aboriginal people who would travel huge distances every year to get to the area in time for the bunya nut crops.
