On the edge of Three Mile Dam in the high country of Kosciuszko National Park

In the summer, this is a spectacular alpine lake surrounded by snow gums, in the winter it is a white wonderland and the lake can freeze mostly over.

There are no marked sites, and the open grassy area allows setting gives good access for camper trailers or caravans.

You can fish here for trout, however ensure you have a NSW fishing licence.

The dam was actually built in 1883 for sluicing for gold mining operations.

Note: there are stories of hidden mine shaft holes still existing in the area, so beware if walking off marked trails.
