Noonan`s Lookout has picnic fireplaces There are areas available in Noonan`s Lookout for horse riding Pets allowed in Noonan`s Lookout

Free bush camping in the Heaton State Forest, at the base of the Mt Vincent lookout.

Access is from the Sugarloaf Range Road, from its entrance just below the Mt Sugarloaf Reserve picnic area, or from entering through Archery Road coming off Wakefield Road.

Both options will need a sound 4WD, horse, trail bike, mountain bike, or bushwalk. In late 2014 the last bit of the trail was severely eroded, and access for four-wheels became impossible. Noonan is now a very quiet campsite!

There are four concrete fireplaces and a bench. No water is available. Pets would be allowable due to the State Forest, however the adjoining Sugarloaf picnic area (where there are toilets and tap water) is a no-pets-allowed, should you need to use the area. Be careful of the enormous bullants to the east of the clearing!

And for something to do, the Mt Vincent/Noonan's lookout gives you a good view of the south of the Sugarloaf range.
